With Spring here and Summer coming up I thought Icould use the blog to notify you of some of the things happening in the Borough:

1. Cinco De Mayo - we will celebrate this holiday in two ways. There will be a festival at Southgate Shopping center on Saturday, May 3rd. It will run from approximately 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. There will be food, music (live bands and D.J.), and booths manned by local businesses. On Sunday, May 4th there will be a concert by the 55 person Carlisle Town Band at Memorial Park. It is free to the public and begins at 2:00 pm. It will feature a wide spectrum of Latin Music.

2. Cumberland Valley Film Club -- the CVFC was formed three months ago. It's goal is to provide quality foreign and independent movies to the people of our community. For now the CVFC will feature one showing a month, on the third Thursday of each month. The CVFC's first presentation was "Cinema Paradiso" on April 17th. Future showings are "Attonement" on May 15th and "La Vie En Rose" on June 19th. Membership in the CVFC is $20 per year and entitles you to discounted ticket prices and other goodies yet to be determined.
